Smith will clean up Raleigh mess

To The Editor: Every time I hear N.C. Sen. Fred Smith speak, I become more convinced that he is the kind of governor North Carolina needs to restore it to good governance and integrity -- something definitely missing in recent years.

As he explains his plans for our state -- putting students first by reforming education, supporting small business and entrepreneurship with job creation, building roads, repairing bridges with adequate infrastructure -- he gets my vote. By upholding our immigration laws and honest, responsible government, and defending traditional marriage, he reflects the values of our people.

Other areas demanding his attention are protecting private property rights, making health care more accessible and affordable, and safe streets, homes and schools.

This successful businessman was a farmer, served in the JAG Corps, built a law firm and a well-known construction company. A conservative, devoted family man, he has the goal of visiting all 100 counties to meet and speak with the people.

Those who know him have no doubts that he will accomplish this as he is a man who has set goals, reached them and set new and more challenging ones.

Fred is the right man to straighten out the corruption in Raleigh.
